  1. Hi Kimberly,
in step 4, what specifically are you observing? I know your question says you are focusing on the impact the program has on readers, but I was interested in what specifically you are looking for. My reasons are that I am gathering data through observation as well and wanted to see other's perspectives. Your inquiry sounds like it will benefit your district well. Reading is such an important skill. You would be amazed at how many 9th graders we get who still struggle with basic reading issues.

    1. Jacqueline thank you for your question. Your inquiry forced me to write more specifically regarding the "why" of my observation. I know what I am thinking, however, it is critical to put those thoughts into clear words. Thank you.

  2. I am not really sure what the 180 program is as this grade level and subject is not in my area. What I can tell you is that making an impact on student reading at any grade level is a valuable endeavor. As an eighth grade teacher, I know that my students who struggle with reading tend to struggle with testing in general. Your study can help provide teachers with data to determine the effectiveness of their program. I'll be interested in what you discover.

    1. Thank you for noting how my research findings may impact the choices of teachers and schools well beyond the 4th grade and the Holbrook campus!
